Accessibility

Accessibility statement.

A website for everyone.

I build websites that everyone can use. Including people with low vision, people who are colour blind, and people who rely on a keyboard or screen reader alone. This website should of course set the right example.

In this statement you can read which guideline dykz.nl meets, how I check it, what isn't quite right yet and how you can report a problem.

This statement applies to all pages on dykz.nl, in Dutch and in English. Last updated on .

Status

WCAG 2.2 level AA.

Dykz.nl is built according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is the international guideline for digital accessibility, which the European Accessibility Act also refers to.

The website fully meets WCAG 2.2 level AA. On several points I go further and meet level AAA. Known issues are listed below under "What isn't right yet".

For example, all text meets the AAA contrast level (at least 7:1) in both day and night mode, and moving effects are switched off if you have set "reduce motion".

Standard

What you can expect on this website.

  • Everything can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus
  • A "Skip to main content" link to bypass the navigation
  • A logical structure with headings, lists and landmarks for screen readers
  • Descriptive text for images and videos
  • Text contrast at AAA level, in day and night mode
  • A night mode with dark colours that you switch on and off yourself
  • Videos you can pause, and no moving effects if you have set "reduce motion"
  • Pop-ups you close with the Esc key, the cross or a click outside
  • The language of every page is set, so screen readers use the correct pronunciation

Testing

How I test.

Automated tests only find part of the problems. That's why I combine them with manual checks. The last full check was on .

  1. Automated

Google Lighthouse, DevTools and WAVE on every page, plus the W3C validator for the HTML code.

  2. Keyboard

Going through every page with only Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Esc: is everything reachable, in a logical order and clearly visible?

  3. Screen reader

Tested with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS: are headings, links, buttons and images read out correctly?

  4. Zoom and contrast

Zooming in to 400%, enlarging text to 200% and measuring every colour contrast, in day and night mode.

Honest

What isn't right yet.

I do my best, but not everything is in my own hands. These are the known issues:

  • Google reviews on the reviews page. These are loaded through an external script from a third party. I can't guarantee that this part is fully accessible. That's why all reviews are also listed below it as plain text on the same page.
  • Videos without sound. The videos in the cases have no sound and no spoken text, so they have no captions. Each video comes with a short description.

Feedback

Running into a problem?

Is there something on this website you can't read, view or use properly? Let me know. Tell me which page it is, what goes wrong and which assistive technology you use, if any, such as a screen reader or magnifier. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

You'll get a reply within 2 working days. Do you need the information on a page in a different format? I'll do my best to share it with you.

Want an
accessible website too?

Since the fourth quarter of 2026, every DYKZ website is built to at least WCAG 2.2 level AA as standard. Curious how accessible your current website is? I'm happy to take a look, free of obligation.
